Plenary speaker Prof. Dr. Goran Dražić

Goran Dražić is a scientific Councillor and head of the Electron Microscopy Group at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, Slovenia, partially employed in the Department of Electronic Ceramics at the Jožef Stefan Institute, and a full professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, where he teaches courses on transmission electron microscopy. His scientific interests include the development and characterization of various catalyst materials for photocatalysis and fuel cells. In recent years, he has been involved in the development and use of scanning transmission electron microscopy for the study of various advanced materials. He received his PhD in 1990 from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in the field of relaxor materials and spent some time as a visiting scientist at the Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany. For his outstanding achievements in the field of transmission electron microscopy, he was awarded the Zois Recognition in 2000 and the Zois Award of the Republic of Slovenia in 2021.
